Born in Cape Town, South Africa and qualified as an architect with experience in South Africa, UK (London) and Australia. Douglas’ international architectural background inform his understanding of the urban landscape at a multitude of scales and influence his exploration and the approach to his work.

Working at a design firm again, now in the landscape architecture sector, Douglas is no longer focused on commissioned work, shifting the focus of his visual art to be more experimental.  Currently slowly working towards a new retrospective photography book, exploring potential gallery representation and concepts around using photography-based AI+3D. Exploring themes that reflect his experiences in both architecture and architectural photography and overlay environmental narratives into the work.
